Mac users can now celebrate because Apple has found a way to convert favorite tracks into ringtones for your iPhone. All you need to do this, is have a GarageBand on your Mac, most preferably the 4.1.1 version as it allows you to not just convert your favourite songs into ringtones from iTunes but from anywhere else you music may be stored.

From iTunes, the process is so much more simpler. Open iTunes and open GarageBand and after that, just drag and drop the songs from iTune into GarageBand into a new track. After that, you have to just activate the region loop tool by clicking on the Cycle Region button and then choose the length of the ringtone that you need. Do remember that more than 40 seconds is not compatible so make sure your selection is within that length.

When everything is according to your preferences, all you have to do is to click Share and then click on Send Ringtone to iTunes. GarageBand does all the work of converting the song to the required format and then deposit the song as a ringtone in iTunes. After that you just have to connect your iPhone to iTunes and sync both. As simple as that!

You don’t just have to use tracks on your iTunes, music stored anywhere else on your computer can also be converted and used as a ringtone on your iPhone, by following the very same steps. But before you begin you need to build your tracks on GarageBand and then follow the same steps for conversion.

The privileges of GarageBand cannot be enjoyed by Windows PC users as it is compatible only with Mac. However, there are still many ways in which Windows PC users can create ringtones of their favorite songs. It just is a little easier for Mac users since they needn’t have to worry about converting formats and the how’s and what’s of getting ringtones from their favorite tracks. All it takes is a few clicks and all the work is taken care of smooth and easily.

If you have the iPhone then you’re someone who sets trends for others. But that’s just not good enough these days as it doesn’t take too long for newer things to come up into the market. But don’t be discouraged because with the iTunes Store, you can keep your favourite iPhone with you and make it really stand out from the rest of the crowd. Here are some of the apps on iTunes that are happening.

Liquid Lite

There’s something infinitely soothing about watching liquid flow, but what if you could make it happen on your iPhone screen? Imagine letting colored liquid ripple across the screen of your iPhone in tiny waves. Not only does it look pretty impressive, it’s relaxing also. Fiddle with this app when you’re doing something boring, and become instantly entertained by the beauty of watching liquid flow. Tilt the phone and the flow starts and use the multi touch interface to push the liquid and manage the flow. Better still, tap anywhere at random and watch the turbulence that comes up! There are three different color schemes as well as backgrounds which make this app a really cool one.

Sketchmania

Let the kid in your come out and play a little with this cool app. Scribble all you want across your iPhone screen and watch your art come to life! With five drawing tools in all, which include a pen, sticky pen, chain, disc and box that can be used to create your little scribbles and have some fun. It’s a simple app that can be used to touch and drag the shape to move it around on the screen, flick the shape to throw it, tap it once to freeze it in position or to unfreeze it as required. You can even tilt the shape to apply gravity to it and just shake it to erase the canvas.

After Image Illusion

Everyone knows about those illusion apps that make you see things that aren’t really there. This one takes that a step further by letting you choose your own image from your own photo gallery and allows you to create a fantastic illusion out of it. When you select an image, the app colors the image with different colors. After this a dot has to be stared at for twenty seconds and the screen has to be touched. Now you will be able to see an image in color when the actual picture is actually in black and white.

Face Mixer

This is a really cool app to have. You can take photos of your friends and then mix it up with various combinations. There could be sexy looking lips below but have thick, bushy eyebrows and all sorts of combos. This app allows you to save the photos in your gallery so that they can be shared with your friends. The latest version of FaceMixer allows you to integrate it with Facebook, so you can take pictures from Facebook and mix it up with pictures in the gallery. These pictures can then be uploaded back on Facebook where it will automatically tag the people in the photo. This app is really cool and is super fun to use not to forget it’s really easy to use.

The language of music is universal and everyone loves to listen to some song or the other. In fact, there could hardly be a single person who remains unaffected by music. With your iPhone, you probably listen to numerous songs and musical pieces and you even play them loudly as ringtones. With the advent of caller tones, music has reached another sphere in the lives of cell phone users. But did you know that iPhone users can do so much more with their phones than just these functions, especially when it comes to music?

Maestro Lite

Here’s a free app for those who are musically inclined. This is a visual as well as audio metronome, a most useful device for those who find music to be their passion. This metronome works by performing steady pulse patterns for you to follow while practicing music. It also works well when you switch off the speaker and use headphones and follow the direction of your baton. All would-be conductors, prepare yourself with this handy device before facing the music (public)

Touch Chords

Always fancied playing the guitar did you? Well then here’s your chance, to do so, with the Touch Chords app for your iPhone and this incredible app comes to you absolutely free of cost. The app takes you through a step by step routine, where you learn the basics of all you need to know about playing the guitar and then, you can even practice on a virtual fret board that comes with strings too! It’s so cool, because as you keep playing on your virtual fret board, you can actually get a hang of how co-ordinated you need to be and can associate the right kind of muscles needed to play; and you can also zoom out each chord so you know exactly how to strum! There’s always some hesitance on whether you’re doing things right if you learn on your own, so you can see the hands of a properly trained guitarist on each chord, showing you how to position your hand the right way.

Lyrical

Wouldn’t you want to sing along with all the songs you play on your iPhone? If you can’t seem to remember the best lines from your favourite song, don’t worry, because thanks to this brilliant app for your iPhone called Lyrical, you have to do nothing but play the song, and the app will search for the lyrics automatically. If it’s other songs you want the lyrics for? Then that too is possible all because of the comprehensive search options with this app. And even if you don’t know the name of the song, just a few scattered words from it and it will be enough to find the lyrics that you want.

Balls

Launch this app on your iPhone and watch the beautiful paint balls bounce on your screen gracefully. These paint balls bump into each other and into the walls and fall because of gravity. As they collide with each other, there’s a gentle pinging sound which seems like music to your ears and in their trail, they leave a wake of color. What could be more soothing right?

Today, it doesn’t matter where you are, but because you can stay constantly connected, that fine line between work and your personal life is just a faint blur. It could be a business presentation for work, or just to check your email, everybody now turns to their phones for such things. Now, the iPhone, which is infamous for its history or rich internet connectivity, also rescues you with its various business applications. Take a look at some of these really cool apps that can turn the way you do things at work completely.

Enlume Password Manager

Aren’t we all bogged down by the numerous passwords that we have to remember for different applications, emails and other stuff? And it’s so tricky to keep track of them but with the Enlume Password Manager app for your iPhone, such hassles are a thing of the past now. This app helps you keep a list of all your passwords, access points, PINs and other private information that you’re wary of writing down anywhere. You might feel like storing them on your computer but it’s only an iPhone app that can give you instant access to the passwords, whenever you need them.

60 Presentation Tips from Ethos3

The Power Point, changed the way presentations are carried out, and also changed and affected a lot of other things; People for instance, began to rely more on the computer than their speaking skills and even vice versa. That has resulted in the fact that presentations over the years are not as good as they ought to be. Now you need something that will make your presentations click and be remembered. So download the 60 Presentation Tips application for your iPhone and witness a marked changed in the way you make your presentations; all these tips come from Scott Schwertly, CEO of Ethos3.

Contact Capture

Now, each time you browse through the internet on your iPhone and decide to save a contact, you’ll no longer have to go through the chore of tapping until you reach the number; with the cool Contact Capture app, you can copy and paste the contacts, because with the app, it just gets easy. With the Contact Capture app, you can pull out contact information from various sources and find them ready for use in your contact book.

Card Scan

Now, here’s a useful app for your iPhone. The next time you pick up a visiting card at a conference and stash it away, there’s something that you can do before you do that, which can save you a lot of trouble. You no longer have to hunt for the card when you actually realize that you need the address or contact number on it for something crucial. With the Card Scan, you can scan any business card using your iPhone’s camera and you can then save it as a contact in your address book. All you have to do is to activate the scan while holding the card and phone at the right angle and the iPhone captures an image of the card, following which it scans the text and straightaway stores it in your contacts for future use. Cool or what!
